I created a 3d pencil with my business’ name going down the pencil. I created this because my topic is being an entertainment publicist which they make statements etc. for athletes, singers, big events and to make sure that they look good in the public eye. I didn’t really look at any logos, so I didn’t really have any ideas of what a logo should look like and I also didn’t want to accidentally make a logo that looked like one that was created. My logo doesn’t have much complexity to it or a lot meaning behind so ideas would be greatly appreciated because I feel like my logo needs some spice to it or just a totally new logo so ideas would greatly be appreciated but overall I think my logo represents my topic because of publicist do a lot of writing but it could use something to make it stand out more. I use the redesign process because at first I was going to make the pencil a pen but then I had a hard time trying to incorporate my business name which I felt is an important part to my logo because if I was to put this logo on my business cards the first thing someone would want to see is what’s my business name and second of all what my business does. I created all of the elements of my logo in illustrator it was difficult for me because none of the illustrator tutorials that we had to do for our assignment showed us how to make the shapes 3d so I had to explore illustrator and figure it out once I figure out to make them 3d it was hard for me to get the shapes all aligned (which they are still kind of off) but I underestimated my logo because I didn’t think it was going to be that difficult to make the shape since we did something similar in tutorials but it made it harder because I turned the shapes into 3d shapes.

 With my sketch I am going to try to accomplish a 3-D effect. my logo is a pencil but except instead of having an eraser as the top I want to be a cube and have my business name on it the reason why it’s shaded because I want the cube to be pink like an eraser and the letters as a cut out and then on the side of the pencil it says entertainment publicist because that’s what my topic is about.

I decided to make a promotional poster for my graphic design project since my topic is about being an entertainment publicist I decided to make a poster promoting my business. To get some ideas for my project I searched online, and all the posters I saw had something that stuck out on it. My draft of my poster was kind of bland and didn’t really have anything that stood out, I had some recognizable celebrities on my poster but besides that nothing else really stood out on the poster. When creating my draft I really tried to think about things that would make my poster unique and unified but after finishing my draft and turning it in I realized I didn’t have much of either. I used the pen tool to cut out the celebrities I used and then used the text tool. Lebron James is my favorite basketball player and Chris Brown is my favorite singer and I think Cam Newton is a good quarterback so it was only right to use them on my poster I decided to put only G.O.A.T.S on my poster kind of to make it a little fun some people do not know what this stands for but this stands for greatest of all time and the s is just for plural. TJT stands for my first name Tierra one of my middle names Janae and my last name Trail. When I was creating this poster I forgot how to use a lot of the tools taught in the photoshop tutorial videos so I just went back and watched the videos to help me figure out what I needed to use. Some feedback I got was to add a drop shadow on the cutouts, add effect to the text, change the background to make it less bland, and to maybe add what TJT means on it.I took the advice of adding drop shadows on the cutouts, I didn’t know how to do this at first so I went back and watched the videos. I also added a drop shadow on the text and changed the font and color since I changed the background and it was hard to read with the background I chose to change it to. I also decided to swap how the words were and decided to put the title of my business at the top so it wouldn’t get out shined by the cutouts down at the bottom.

My topic is becoming an entertainment publicist. For this project I decided to make a promotional poster to try to promote the business I wish to create one day. I wasn’t sure at first how to create a promotional poster so I decided to look online for some ideas to help me get a start on mine that’s when I got the idea to get a picture of Chris Brown that I could use and get some pictures of myself it was a little hard because I wasn’t sure at first what I wanted my business to be called then I just thought of keeping it simple with T J T publicist company the first T stands for Tierra, the J stands for Janae my middle name, and the last T stands for Trail. I noticed when looking at other promotional posters they always say we they are about at the time and in attention grabbing language so that helped me to know that my poster need to have color in it and be vibrant because if it was boring looking no one would pay attention to it. When I was creating this I was trying to think about unity because I felt if it didn’t have unity then it wouldn’t attract people’s attention and that’s the whole point of a promotional poster. I collected the pictures from google by typing the names of the celebrities and making sure it was under labeled for reuse deciding who I was going to use wasn’t hard because I think Cam Newton and Lebron James are amazing athletes and I think Chris Brown is an amazing artist. I use the pen tool to cut out the celebrities I used I had a hard time at first because I forgot how to actually make it cut and copy so I went back to the photoshop videos and remember how to use it.

My topic is becoming an entertainment publicist I chose this as my topic because this is a future career I want to pursue and when I am really passionate about something and have a goal I tend to do everything I can to achieve it.

I plan to collect original materials like photos, audio recordings, and video footage because I know different athletes, music artist, performers, etc. so I plan to act like their publicist and take different photos, audio recordings, and video footage of the people I know.

One idea I have for one of the unit projects is a poster promoting one of my clients giving them more publicity and then the other idea I have for another unit project and creating a logo for business cards and websites.

Necessities to become an entertainment publicist part 1  

you have to at least have your bachelor’s degree in public relations, communications, journalism,  business or English. with different skills like web page creation, oral and written communications, computer skills including graphics, etc.
